Joshua Tree National Park – Tree and Flowers

 

The best photo of Joshua Tree National Park that has no Joshua Trees in it.

While driving into Joshua Tree National Park from the south, you start looking for the mythical Joshua Trees.  Having never seen one, and knowing so many plants can look alike, I was just looking at everything.  Before I saw anything spectacular and different – I smelled… heaven!  Well, heaven if it were full of flowers.

The Desert of the American South West typically blooms in spring, and I had missed the Cacti bloom, but I did catch the flower bloom!  The smell was enticing and required a pull over.  The scene captivated me, and sticks with me to this day.
